Performance Evaluation of Hierarchical Publish-Subscribe Monitoring Architecture for Service-Oriented Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Contemporary high-performance service-oriented applications demand a performance efficient run-time monitoring. In this paper, we analyze a hierarchical publishsubscribe architecture for monitoring service-oriented applications. The analyzed architecture is based on a tree topology and publish-subscribe communication model for aggregation of distributed monitoring data. In order to satisfy interoperability and platform independence of serviceorientation, monitoring reports are represented as XML documents. Since XML formatting introduces a significant processing and network load, we analyze the performance of monitoring architecture with respect to the number of monitored nodes, the load of system machines, and the overall latency of the monitoring system. A Performance Test Harness For Publish/Subscribe Middleware
Publish/subscribe is becoming increasingly popular as communication paradigm for loosely-coupled message exchange. It is used as a building block in major new software architectures and technology domains such as Enterprise Service Bus, Enterprise Application Integration, Service-Oriented Architecture and Event-Driven Architecture. The growing adoption of these technologies leads to a strong ne...
متن کاملDistributed High Performance Grid Information Service
We introduce a distributed high performance Grid Information Service Architecture, which forms a metadata replica hosting system to manage both highly-dynamic, small-scale and relatively-large, static metadata associated to Grid/Web Services. We present an empirical evaluation of the proposed architecture and investigate its practical usefulness. The results demonstrate that the proposed system...

To accommodate real-time dynamic large scale service composition requirements, Event-Driven Service Oriented Architecture (EDSOA) is introduced to solve the shortcomings of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Our EDSOA service execution platform is built on Web Service Notification based distributed topic-based publish/subscribe infrastructure services. This paper presents our innovations at s...
متن کاملThe new OGC Publish/Subscribe Standard - applications in the Sensor Web and the Aviation domain
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) has conducted much work in the past on event-based models and architectures. However, the current OGC standard baseline only supports synchronous web service capabilities, which have insofar primarily addressed the request/reply model, where a client makes a request and the server usually responds synchronously, with either the requested information or a fai...
